Mahood's Sweet Shop
In 1905 Del Mahood came to Corte Madera to be the railroad agent, telegrapher, and stationmaster. He and his brother operated the post office and sweet shop. The sweet shop called Mahood's sold ice cream, sandwiches, and pastries. People could pick up their mail and use the telegraph. A telegraph was used before the phone was invented to communicate with people far away. The morse code which is a pattern of dots and dashes was used instead of talking.
